Momokawa Saké: The Water
Since ancient times, saké breweries have traditionally been built in areas where they will benefit from local rice harvests and the natural environment.

The Momokawa brewery was built alongside the crystal clear Oirase River (top right) that flows from Lake Towada (bottom right), which is fed by snow melt from the picturesque Hakkoda Mountains.

The water used to brew Momokawa saké is tapped from the Oirase River aquifer, located 250 meters below the surface, where it undergoes a natural filtering and softening process.

This pristine water gives Momokawa saké a particularly smooth and mellow texture that has won the company numerous awards over the years.
